Format Photofestival Derby

One of my photos was displayed at Format Festival in Derby at Quad. It formed the inspiration for one of the guests attending a workshop. I didn’t have time to attend but my sister and brother in law did!

This was in response to a call out on instagram:

15 – 21 March - Challenge 2: Cut It - Create a mosaic/collage picture or pattern, produced by arranging together pieces of a photograph.

Curated by Digital Participation Curator John Whall and Creative Wellbeing Co-ordinator Jane Hardstaff, FORMAT: Remix is FORMAT19’s participation exhibition inspired by the work of Kensuke Koike and the festival theme FOREVER//NOW. Participants are invited to rework, remake and remix images through a series of online and offline interactions with analogue and digital photographs and are designed to question the permanence of an image and it’s meaning to the owner.

Kunsthuis Gallery

Kunsthuis gallery did a call out on curatorspace for photographs relating to positive emotions.

We, as humans, have always faced uncertainty engaging with life and a resultant complex set of mechanisms have developed to help us navigate through this.  Our emotional engagement with life is a powerful source of motivation, conscious or unconscious. Leaving aside the academic debates that underpin these concepts we, at Kunsthuis Gallery, would like to focus on the idea of positive emotions as the theme for our next exhibition.

Proud to be exhibiting at Kunsthuis Gallery this spring and summer.  I visited the opening on the 5th April and it was great to meet the Dutch owner of Kunsthuis Gallery, Cecile Cremers.

BBC North West tonight and radio interviews

BBC North West tonight showed three of my images shot when ‘World on Fire’ was being filmed in St. Annes on the 12th February 2019.

I also had a couple of Radio interviews for BBC radio Lancashire to promote the ‘Burgers and Noodles’ photographic exhibition. Promoting our exhibition at the winder gardens on the 30th January with John Gillmore and also in the morning session with Graham Liver. Then another opportunity to promote our exhibition at the 1 year opening celebration of the Art Break Hotel. On the 8th March a group of artists from Blackpool and surrounding areas were invited to the BBC radio lancashire studio in Blackburn to talk about art on International Women’s day. It was amazing to be part of the celebration of women’s work at this venue.
