During July and August we start our curatorial activaties at HIVE. Ripping up carpets in the boiling hot sun, going to the tip, buying cleaning materials its all part of the role of curators before we can start unpacking and hanging the work of nearly 80 female photographers. In the end we had 500 works on display! We also had some time for marketing the event in the local newspaper.
I don’t see myself as a street photographer but I entered the Women Street Photographers contents anyway and got to my amazement an Honourable Mention. I love the photograph of the farmer lying between his herd, so glad it got some publicity.
Re-arrested development managed to secure another empty shop in Blackpool and transformed it into a Gallery the opening was on the 26th July.
